Passwords

Passwords are an essential part of your networks security. Passwords, in Symtrex's experience, are one of the biggest security flaws of an organization. Employees write them down and post-it-note it to their computer, use the same password for absolutely everything from their computer to their online banking, use the default passwords that come with the software or give their password to their colleagues.

By instituting a corporate policy, stating that passwords must contain both upper and lower case, numeric and symbols will reduce the use of ease to figure out passwords. Stating that they must be changed every two months again is an added level of security. Another item to remember is to not say remember my password if asked on the internet.
