What's an Intranet

Communication is critical, especially within an organization and an Intranet is a communication infrastructure. An Intranet is essentially a private Internet. Just as the Internet dispenses information any time on just about any topic you can imagine, the Intranet can, if utilized properly, make any information from your company available to your employees at any time.

It is a relatively inexpensive business tool, especially if you have already invested in an enterprise wide network. Depending on the system you set up, training should be minimal and the information that can be posted is limitless, ranging from client databases, product information, and project information to company phone directory lists, newsletters and announcements for company parties.

If you need help in setting it up and maintenance, give us a call, we would be happy to help you.

Now that you know what an Intranet is, do you need an outside consultant to build an Intranet for you. If you already have someone on-site who knows about coding and how to post items to the Internet, you could more than likely build your own Intranet; if you do not, it couldn't hurt to have someone give you a little guidance. Again Symtrex would be more than happy to help.
