INTRIA/HP INTRIA/HP was formed as an international joint venture between the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Hewlett-Packard. Intria/HP focuses on providing full information technology managed service solutions to large corporate customers including CIBC. The Challenge: INTRIA/HP was planning for the migration of CIBC's multi-platform, 50,000 seat e-mail environment to HP's Managed Exchange Service. CIBC's messaging environment consisted of Exchange, OfficeVision, Lotus Notes, cc:Mail and GroupWise. There were difficulties that needed to be addressed including multiple directories, synchronization and the multiple messaging platforms, with the corresponding administration. Solution: Symtrex was hired to resolve these enterprise issues due to the fact that Symtrex had previous knowledge of CIBC and had in fact been working on these issues. Symtrex implemented enterprise directory synchronization and 5-tier replication into the production environment resulting in a single point of administration for all mailboxes, lowering administration costs and substantially reducing mail delivery failures. All of the work was tested in our lab environment, where virus scanning, Microsoft Service Packs and third party software/products could be tested prior to implementing into the production environment. By doing so implementation into the production environment could be completed virtually problem free. Symtrex collaborated with Microsoft to implement and stabilize the Exchange/Enterprise Address Book directory connector which is a critical component for connecting the over 15,000 IBM OfficeVision users to the Exchange Environment. Symtrex provided management procedures for the maintenance of the EAB was documented to allow for training of the Administrative and helpdesk staff, thereby reducing the administrative costs through more efficient changes to mailboxes and directories.
