Inplex

Inplex is an office services company which works primarily for tenants of large building complexes. Inplex offers courier services, mail, personnel, purchasing, and document management.

The Challenge:

When Symtrex was contacted in 2001, Inplex had numerous problems including multiple sites with no centralized administrative control, failing hardware and software, and a proliferation of viruses, in addition there was no network security and had problems with their email system.

Solution:

Symtrex was hired to perform a network audit, analysis and provide network security via our managed services. Symtrex did a site by site analysis evaluating the existing equipment and network. Visio drawings were completed for each of the locations as well as a listing of all equipment on site.

Symtrex placed at each location a managed service firewall box. Symtrex then began to rectify problems on the physical network, including adding virus protection, replacing old hardware/software, relocating servers, racking equipment for better management, establishing a cable management system and putting in place high level security practices and acceptable usage policies.

It was discovered that there was a need for a centrally managed, secured email system accessible by all remote locations. Symtrex worked with the client to migrate their mail through our mail filtering system to the new hosted environment.
