Continua Capital Inc.

Continua Capital Inc. provides business and financial advisory services to early stage Canadian technology companies. Continua provides the following services: assists with securing seed capital; ensures that a clear and concise business plan has been prepared; prepares an institutional grade presentation; provides guidance on an optimal operating structure; makes strategic partnership/investor introductions; and provides assistance in negotiations with suppliers, investors, and customers.

The Challenge:

Continua Capital was a company in the early stages and were concerned about their existing network. As a venture capital company they required that their network was secure, which included PDA's, messaging and their web site. In 2001 they also had a corporate relocation.

Solution:

Symtrex was hired in 2000 and performed an audit on all existing hardware and software and performed penetration tests into their network to determine where there were security breaches.

Once the potential problems were fixed, Symtrex setup a secure VPN to enable the employees to access the network remotely from their home locations, setup their PDA's to synchronize with their network and put in place our managed firewall solution and mail filter (inbound emails only).

Continua Capital was one of our first customers to use our managed services, which enable Symtrex to remotely managed their server. Our mail filter has virtually eliminated viruses going into Continua Capital from their corporate email accounts.

Symtrex also orchestrated their corporate relocation, bringing down their server on a Friday evening and Continua Capital was up and running Monday morning.
